Meramec River flood of March, 2008 put 8 to 12 feet of muddy water in our bottom fields near the river. We welcome the high water as we wind up with an extra half inch or so of new topsoil from our upstream neighbors. The crops always do quite well following the floods. The railroad at its lowest point was still about forty feet above the high water mark.
